How this site is organised
The content splits into two kinds of page. Generic pages explain how business account offers, fees and referral schemes work as a category, without favouring any one provider. Tide-specific pages cover the Tide business current account and the REFER200 partner campaign in detail, because that is where our research is deepest.
Start with the generic pages if you are still deciding what kind of account you need. Go straight to the Tide pages if you already know Tide is in your shortlist and want the mechanics, plans and eligibility detail.
Offers and referral schemes
- Business account offers — what a switching or referral incentive actually is and why the amount is never the whole story.
- Business account referral codes — how codes work, why they must be entered at the right point, and what happens if you forget.
- Best business account offers — what "best" should mean, and why we do not publish a ranked cashback table.
- How business account offers work — the qualifying spend, holding periods and validation windows almost every offer shares.
Choosing and paying for an account
- How to choose a business account — a decision framework by business type and transaction pattern.
- Business account fees explained — how to read a fee schedule and where the real costs hide.
- Compare business accounts — our side-by-side comparison tool.
Tide-specific research
If you want the detail on one specific provider, the Tide review, Tide plans and fees, and the current REFER200 offer page cover the account, its pricing tiers and the mechanics of the campaign this site was originally built to document.
Trust and eligibility pages
We also maintain a set of pages on regulation and protection — is Tide a bank, is Tide safe, and how FSCS and safeguarding differ — plus troubleshooting pages for readers whose referral code or cashback has gone wrong. These sit alongside the guides because a switching decision is incomplete without understanding how your money is protected.
Who is best-suited to what
We also publish pages aimed at specific business types — sole traders, limited companies, freelancers, contractors, startups, e-commerce sellers, tradespeople and landlords — because the right account depends heavily on how you take money in and pay it out, not just on the headline offer.
A decision framework for using this site
If you already know your business structure and roughly how money moves through it, skip straight to the audience page for that structure and the plans-and-fees page. If you are still weighing whether Tide is right at all, read how to choose a business account first, then the Tide review, then come back to the offer pages once you know the account itself is a fit.
A rough rule: spend more time on the account-fit pages than the offer pages. An extra £50 or £75 of cashback rarely changes the right answer if the underlying account is wrong for how you invoice, bank cash or pay staff.
Checklist before you commit to any page's recommendation
- Have you checked the specific fee or reward figure quoted against the provider's current terms, rather than trusting a single page's snapshot?
- Does the audience page you read match your actual structure — sole trader, limited company, or a hybrid such as a contractor who also lets property?
- Have you read at least one page on regulation and protection (is Tide a bank, FSCS protection) if you plan to hold meaningful balances?
- Have you checked the troubleshooting pages before assuming a code or cashback issue is unresolvable?
What this index deliberately leaves out
We do not maintain a full independent database of every UK business account provider, and we say so rather than pretending otherwise. If a provider or comparison you need is not here, treat that as a gap to fill with the provider's own site, not as evidence they are worse than the ones we do cover.
