The problem, stated plainly
You expected part or all of up to £200 in campaign cashback and it has not arrived. Before treating this as an error, work through the six checks below in order. In the large majority of cases the answer turns out to be either that validation has not finished running, or that one specific condition — a settlement date, a refund, a maintained balance — was not actually met, even though the activity that should have qualified looked fine at the time.
1. Is it actually late?
Validation happens after a deadline passes, and payment follows validation — typically within a few weeks. Allow that window before treating a reward as missing. Use the deadline calculator to confirm which deadline applies and when it fell.
2. Are you expecting two payments as one?
The £75 and £125 steps have different deadlines and are validated separately, so they usually arrive separately. A £75 credit with no sign of the £125 is the normal pattern, not a fault, especially while the savings holding period is still running.
3. Did the card spend settle in time?
Check your transaction list rather than your memory. A payment authorised on day 28 that settled on day 31 did not count. Pre-authorisations at fuel stations and hotels are the usual offenders. See our page on qualifying card transactions for the full list of what counts.
4. Were there refunds?
A refunded, reversed or disputed payment is normally removed from your qualifying total. Two returns can quietly drop you below £100 even though your statement once showed more.
5. Did the Instant Saver balance stay put?
The balance has to be maintained for the holding period. A withdrawal mid-period normally forfeits the £125, even if the £5,000 was funded on day one.
6. Was the code actually attached?
If you cannot find evidence that the campaign was attached at signup, this is the likely explanation for both steps failing. Our forgot-the-code page covers what to do next.
The dates and windows that matter
- Your account opening date, which anchors both the 30-day card spend window and the 7-day Instant Saver funding window.
- The end of the 30-day card spend window, after which validation of the £75 step can begin.
- The end of the 30-day Instant Saver holding period, after which validation of the £125 step can begin.
- The typical validation-and-payment window that follows each deadline — check the cashback timeline for how this is generally described.
Evidence checklist before you contact support
- Screenshot of your account opening date.
- Full card transaction list for the 30-day window, showing settled status and any refunds.
- Instant Saver statement covering funding date through the full holding period, showing an unbroken balance.
- The campaign code and the page you applied through.
- The specific reward step and deadline you are asking about — not both steps bundled into one vague message.
How to raise it with Tide
Message support in-app with: your account opening date, the campaign code, screenshots of the qualifying transactions with dates and statuses, and the specific reward step you are asking about. One clear message with evidence gets further than several vague ones. Remember that validation is Tide's decision and we cannot influence it.
What support can and cannot do
Support can confirm whether validation has run, explain how your specific total was calculated, and correct a genuine processing error. Support cannot promise a payment date in advance, cannot override the terms if a condition genuinely was not met, and will not guarantee that a reward will be approved before validation has actually taken place.
