REFER200 is not the standard Refer a Friend programme.REFER200 is a specific partner campaign. It is not the same as Tide's standard public Refer a Friend programme, which can carry different reward amounts, spending requirements and deadlines. Always read the campaign page and applicable Tide terms before applying.

Why this hub exists

The REFER200 partner campaign has two reward steps — up to £75 for qualifying Tide card spend and up to £125 for funding and holding £5,000 in Tide Instant Saver — each with its own window, its own exclusions and its own point of failure. Most of the messages we see are not really about Tide being unreliable; they are about a reader assuming a condition was met when the mechanics say otherwise, or assuming a deadline has passed when it has not. This page sorts you into the right specific guide so you are not re-reading the general terms every time.

Nothing here overrides Tide's own terms or the campaign terms you agreed to at signup. Where this page and Tide's page disagree, Tide's page is correct — always check it before you contact support, and again before you accept an answer from anyone else, including us.

Work out which problem you have

The dates and windows that matter

  1. Account opening date — the date your Tide business current account was actually opened, not the date you started or submitted the application.
  2. The 30-day card spend window, which runs from account opening and governs the £100 qualifying spend for the £75 step.
  3. The applicable 7-day funding window for the £5,000 Instant Saver deposit, which is considerably shorter than the card spend window and the one most readers miss.
  4. The 30-day Instant Saver holding period that follows successful funding, during which the balance has to be maintained.
  5. The validation and payment window that follows each deadline — allow it to run before treating a reward as missing.

Before you contact anyone

  1. Confirm your account opening date, not your application date.
  2. Screenshot your transaction list showing the qualifying payments and their status.
  3. Check for refunds, which reduce the qualifying total.
  4. Re-read the campaign terms on the page you applied through.
  5. Check whether the relevant holding period has actually finished.

Common exclusions across both reward steps

A short list of exclusions accounts for the large majority of the queries we see. Card spend does not include bank transfers, ATM withdrawals, Tide's own fees, or Direct Debits and standing orders — only settled card payments count, and refunded or reversed payments are removed from the total. On the savings side, the money has to sit specifically inside Instant Saver, not a current-account balance, and has to stay there for the full holding period; an early partial withdrawal normally forfeits the reward even if the initial deposit was correct and on time. Neither step is validated instantly — validation happens after the relevant deadline, and payment follows validation, typically within a few weeks.

Build an evidence pack before you message anyone

  • A screenshot of your account opening confirmation or the date shown in-app under account details.
  • A screenshot of your full card transaction list for the 30-day window, including status (settled, pending, refunded, declined).
  • A screenshot or export of your Instant Saver statement covering the funding date through to the end of the holding period.
  • The campaign code you used and where you entered it.
  • The reference number of any previous in-app support chat about this issue, if you have already raised it once.

What we can and cannot do

We can explain the mechanics, tell you what Tide is likely to ask and help you work out whether a condition was actually met. We cannot see your account, escalate a case, or overturn a validation decision. Every outcome is Tide's. We will never tell you that a code will definitely be applied, that a reward will definitely be approved, or promise a payment date — nobody outside Tide's support team is in a position to say that, and you should treat any site that does say it with suspicion.

Where to check the current terms

Campaign terms are set and amended by Tide, not by this site. Before you act on anything here, check our offer terms summary and, where you can, Tide's own campaign page, since that is the version that legally governs your case.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is this the same as Tide's own Refer a Friend programme?

No. REFER200 is a partner campaign with its own amounts and windows. Tide also runs a separate public Refer a Friend scheme with different terms — do not mix the two up when you check figures.

How quickly should I raise a problem?

As soon as you notice it, and always before a deadline passes if the issue is something you can still fix, such as topping up spend or funding Instant Saver.

Can Business Account Offer look at my account?

No. We are an independent guide with no access to Tide accounts. Only Tide support can see your account and make a decision.
