Why we summarise the terms at all
Campaign terms are written as legal conditions, not as guidance, and they are often long, cross-reference other Tide documents, and use defined terms that are easy to skim past. Our summary exists to make the shape of the offer clear before you read the original — not to replace it. Anything below that conflicts with Tide's own published terms should be resolved in favour of Tide's terms, and we would want to know about the discrepancy.
Who can take part
- New Tide members only. Existing or previously registered members are excluded.
- Tide currently lists sole traders, freelancers and directors of limited companies as applicant types. Business structure, activity, identity checks and campaign qualification are separate, and Tide makes the final decision.
- One reward per eligible business.
- The code must be entered during signup or applied retrospectively within 7 days of account opening via Tide in-app chat.
The two reward conditions
- £75 — at least £100 of qualifying Tide card transactions completed within 30 days of account opening.
- £125 — deposit at least £5,000 into Tide Instant Saver within 7 days of account opening and keep it there for one month.
How the two conditions relate to each other
Nothing in the structure of the campaign requires you to attempt both steps, and nothing suggests that failing one step disqualifies you from the other. They are described and validated as separate conditions. That said, the definitive answer on whether they are formally independent sits in Tide's published terms, and it is worth reading that specific clause directly rather than assuming from our summary.
What Tide decides
Tide decides whether your application is approved, whether your activity meets the conditions, whether a reward is payable and when it is paid. It can also amend or withdraw the campaign. None of those decisions involve this website.
In practical terms, that means we cannot intervene if a reward is delayed, query an individual case with Tide on your behalf, or override a decision we disagree with. Our role is limited to reporting what the terms say and pointing you toward the right Tide support channel when something needs resolving.
Reading the terms yourself: what to look for
- The exact definition of a 'qualifying' card transaction, including any category exclusions.
- The precise start point for each deadline — application date versus account opening date.
- Whether the Instant Saver condition specifies a minimum balance throughout the 30 days or only at the point of funding.
- Any clause about the campaign being amended or withdrawn, and what that means for applications already in progress.
- The stated payment timeframe after validation, and where to raise a query if it is missed.
Where our summary could be out of date
Campaign terms change without announcement. We re-check on a monthly cycle and record the date at the top of the page, but the correct procedure before you apply is always to open Tide's terms link and read the current version. If you find a discrepancy between this page and Tide's terms, Tide's terms win and we would like to hear about it through our corrections route.
What to do if a dispute arises
If Tide's validation of your account does not match what you believe you achieved — for example, you believe you met the card spend threshold but no reward was credited — the first step is always to raise it directly with Tide support, quoting your account opening date, the dates and amounts of the relevant transactions, and any screenshots you kept from application. This site cannot adjudicate individual cases; our cashback troubleshooting pages exist to help you present a clear, evidenced query rather than to resolve the dispute itself.
