The problem, stated plainly
You funded Tide Instant Saver expecting it to count toward the £125 reward step, but the deposit does not appear to have been recognised, or the reward has not arrived after the holding period should have finished. This step has the tightest timing in the whole campaign, so before contacting support, work through the five common causes below in order.
Immediate checks, in order
- Confirm your account opening date and count forward the applicable funding window from it.
- Check the exact date and time the £5,000 transfer arrived in Instant Saver, not the date you initiated it.
- Check the balance history for the full 30-day holding period for any dip below £5,000.
- Confirm the money is inside Instant Saver specifically, not a current-account balance or another product.
- Check whether the 30-day holding period has actually finished before expecting validation.
The window was missed
The funding window is the applicable seven-day window from account opening — far shorter than the 30-day card-spend window. A transfer initiated on day seven that arrives on day eight has missed it. Scheduled transfers are the classic mistake.
The balance fell short
£4,980 is not £5,000. Fees, rounding and part-funding from two sources all cause near-misses. Fund with a small margin above the threshold rather than exactly on it.
The money was withdrawn early
The required balance has to be maintained for 30 days. A partial withdrawal during the holding period normally breaks the condition even though the deposit itself was correct and on time.
It went into the wrong place
The requirement is specific to Instant Saver, not to a current-account balance or another savings product. Check in the app that the money is showing inside the Instant Saver pot.
Validation has not run yet
The holding period has to end before this step can be validated, and payment follows validation. Count forward 30 days from funding, then allow a few weeks, before treating it as missing.
Dates and windows summarised
- The 7-day funding window, measured from your account opening date.
- The date the £5,000 actually landed inside Instant Saver — arrival date, not the date you sent it.
- The 30-day holding period, running from the date the balance first reached £5,000.
- The validation-and-payment window that follows the end of the holding period.
Evidence checklist
- Screenshot or export of the Instant Saver balance history from before funding through to the end of the holding period, showing no dip below £5,000.
- The exact date the transfer arrived, ideally from a bank statement or in-app transaction record rather than memory.
- Your account opening date.
- The campaign code and the page you applied through.
- Confirmation the funds were held in Instant Saver and not another account or pot.
If you have genuinely met the condition
Screenshot the Instant Saver balance history showing the funding date, the amount and an unbroken balance through the holding period. Send that to Tide support with the campaign code and your opening date. Evidence of an unbroken balance is the thing that matters.
How to contact Tide support and what to say
Once the holding period has genuinely finished and a reasonable validation window has passed, message support in-app with your account opening date, the exact date the £5,000 arrived in Instant Saver, and the unbroken balance evidence. Ask one specific question — has the £125 step been validated — rather than a general complaint that the money has not arrived.
What support can and cannot do
Support can confirm the funding date it recorded, tell you whether the balance dipped during the holding period, and correct a genuine system error. Support cannot backdate a transfer that arrived after the funding window, cannot waive the requirement to maintain the full £5,000 for 30 days, and will not promise in advance that a reward will be approved before the holding period and validation have actually completed.
