How to contact Tide support
The main route to Tide support is through the in-app chat. Open the Tide app, tap the menu or help icon, and start a chat. Tide's support team responds through the app. For account security issues — such as a lost or stolen card, or a suspected fraudulent transaction — you can also freeze your card instantly from within the app without waiting for support.
Phone support is available on Smart, Pro and Max plans during weekday business hours, with extended hours on Max. If you are on the Free plan and need to speak to someone, upgrading to Smart temporarily is an option, though in-app chat is usually faster for most queries.
| Plan | In-app chat | Phone support | Priority support |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | ✓ 24/7 | No | No |
| Smart | ✓ 24/7 | ✓ Weekdays | ✓ Priority |
| Pro | ✓ 24/7 | ✓ Weekdays | ✓ Priority |
| Max | ✓ 24/7 | ✓ Weekdays + weekend | ✓ Dedicated |
What Tide support can and cannot help with
Tide's support team can help with: account access issues, card problems, transaction queries, referral code application, plan changes, and general account questions. They cannot override eligibility decisions, guarantee reward payments, or make exceptions to campaign terms on your behalf.
For REFER200 specifically: if you forgot to enter the code during signup, contact Tide in-app chat within 7 days of account opening. Give the team the code REFER200 and your account-opening date and ask for retrospective application. This is the only route — no external site can apply the code for you.
What to do if your issue is not resolved
If in-app chat does not resolve your issue, ask to escalate to a senior agent. For complaints, Tide has a formal complaints process — details are on Tide's website under 'Legal' or 'Complaints'. If Tide's complaints process does not resolve your issue within 8 weeks, you can refer the matter to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS), which is free to use.
For account decisions (declined applications, account restrictions), Tide is not required to give detailed reasons, and an external site cannot intervene in these decisions. The FCA register confirms Tide's regulatory status and the FOS is the appropriate escalation route for unresolved complaints.
